Heineken Romania is one of the biggest beer producers on the Romanian market. We respect the duties we have towards the Romanian State by paying on time and correctly the taxes and the duties. We respect the duties we have towards our employees, our customers and our consumers. At the national level, Heineken Romania has 1.300 employees.
The way in which we operate on the Romanian market and in which we establish relations with our business partners is based on a few conduct principles, known and respected in the whole organization:
Business behavior:
At Heineken Group constant efforts are made in order to establish and impose consistent standards for business ethics. We have formulated a code for business behavior to be implemented in the whole world and which was adopted by Heineken Romania, too. In the center of our actions was the need that each one of our employees knows exactly what is expected from him/her in each commercial situation. We do not tolerate the fraud and the corruption and we believe that these should be eliminated from the society, that is why we have elaborated programs in order to eradicate them from inside the company.
The Code of Conduct:
The policy regarding the business ethics was clarified a few years ago. We developed a program in order to establish standards regarding the business ethics inside our company. We focus on explaining our employees the way in which Heineken expects them to behave in every commercial situation.
Product integrity:
According to Heineken’s policy regarding the safety of the products, specific measures are taken for preventing the contamination of the products. Our breweries are obliged to implement the HACCP(Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles. Our policy regarding the raw materials requires our providers to operate a system based on these principles, and the conformity is checked.
Health and Safety:
Heineken gives special attention to health and security. The general approach and the efforts done in this way brought a major contribution to reducing the number of accidents in the past years. We are careful that our employees know the health and security policies of the Heineken Group and that are informed about the possible risks they are exposed to at the workplace. Of course, a larger number of employees are trained to reduce the risks related to the health and security.
Human rights:
Heineken adheres to the rights that stand at the base of the Human Rights Universal Declaration: respect for the dignity of all the people, irrespective of the race, religion, sexual orientation or political believes. We will not cooperate, actively or pasively, directly or indirectly to any kind of violation of the human rights and we support our employees if third parties are not respecting their rights.
Rule of law:
Heineken Romania complies all the local rules and regulations but acts accordingly to its own values and principles, at the same time. Despite our efforts, it might happen that some individual act against the ethics. This kind of behaviour harms the society, other individuals or the Company itself. This is why, each employee has the duty to act in such a way that the Company can immediately act or stop any possible harm.
