Heineken Romania receives 4 golden medals for the quality of its Romanian beersBucharest, 23 April 2008
Heineken Romania receives golden medals for all 4 Romanian beer brands that participated in the Monde Selection Competition this year. Ciuc Premium, Golden Brau, Silva and Silva Dark were the big winners of 2008 “World Selection of Beer” competition. The 4 medals reward the quality and the unique recipe of the Heineken Romania beer brands.
The “World Selection of Beer” competition is organized each year by the Monde Selection Institute, an independent institution for quality testing, founded in Belgium in 1961. The selection includes brands from all over the world, including from countries with a longstanding tradition in brewing.
In this annual contest, Monde Selection checks the conformity of quality standards of the participating products against international standards. The Institute analyses the products in certified and independent laboratories, and afterwards the products are submitted to a tasting board consisting of an international jury.
“We are very proud that all our beers registered in prestigious competition were awarded with gold medals. Moreover, for Golden Brau this is the 4th medal received since 2003. Golden Brau gained over the jury with its pleasant, slightly bitter taste, its freshness and its constant quality. Golden Brau also won the prestigious competition in 2007, 2006 and 2003, proving that it can compete with the best beers in the World, responding favourably to the increased expectations and demands of the Romanian consumer in terms of quality.
Manufactured ever since 1975, the Ciuc Premium beer immediately became an outstanding brand, due to its unique taste provided by the pure water in the local area and the excellent quality of malt and hops. The year 2007 was a new start for the Ciuc Premium brand. Exclusively manufactured in Miercurea Ciuc, the Ciuc beer was re-launched with a more modern package, enhancing the premium look of the new labels. Ciuc Premium is an exceptional beer, providing unmatched freshness and a unique taste to its consumers. All these qualities also translated into its modern, contemporary image.
Yellow-golden color, flavored taste, clarity, rich foam and long time freshness - all these make Silva a special beer. Born in the heart of Transylvania, Silva inherited some of the patriarchal atmosphere of the region and the reputation of the excellent craftsmen from here. Even before 1989, this brand’s name was associated with one the best beers in the country. Silva was successfully launched in 1991, followed by Silva Dark in 1996, a special beer produced after an original Belgian recipe, without any artificial coloring substances.
