Heineken Romania reports strong turnover growth of 36% for the first half of 2007Bucharest, 19 September 2007
“For the first half of 2007, we are pleased to announce we have met our set financial objectives”, stated Edwin Botterman, President & CEO Heineken Romania. “This was possible due to the fact that we continued to strengthen our brand portfolio, optimize our sales & distribution network in the market and invest in marketing and trade market activities. Of course, the favourable weather also had a positive impact and enhanced our overall efforts”, Botterman added.
Sales volume growth
For the first six months of 2007, Heineken Romania reports a beer volume growth of 20% with a total beer volume of 2.3 million hl. With a market share of 26.5% (according AC Nielsen, June 2007), the company confirms once again the long term leading position on the beer market (since 2000).
Brand portfolio
Heineken Romania reports positive achievements for all company’s focus brands. The greatest achievement is the growth of the flagship brand, Heineken, which registered a growth of more than 40%.
“Creating a winning portfolio is a core objective for our business. We have the most diversified brand portfolio on the market, covering all segments. We pay attention to the preferences of our consumers; we anticipate trends, and bring innovations and enjoyment in their lives. Nevertheless, the first thing we focus on is Quality in everything we do” stated Edwin Botterman.
2007 – more than 40 million EUR investements
Since the entrance of the company on the market in 1997 until first half of 2007, Heineken Romania invested 190 million EUR, from which more than 20 million EUR have been invested this year. In the next five months, Heineken will invest another 20 million EUR, mainly into upgrading the technical facilities within the breweries.
Heineken Romania is the leading beer producer since 2000. The brands portfolio includes Heineken, Gosser, Schlosgold, Silva, Ciuc, Golden Brau, Bucegi, Gambrinus, Harghita, Hategana.
